Top Tips!

  • Most private sector accommodation available to incoming students will be in a family home or owner occupied accommodation as most houses/apartments go to current students in April-June of the previous academic year.
  • Expect that finding suitable accommodation will be time consuming and competitive, in particular for 7 day placements and in areas near the University.

Listed accommodation is not vetted by the university and so if possible bring a friend or family member with you when visiting properties to help you decide.
Work out your budget and consider all your options and use all the resources available to you.
Landlords decide on what type of students they wish to let their accommodation to, when they place an advert and also when they advertise their property. Keep records of who you contact as landlords may use several resources to reach potential tenants/students.
Check that you have alerts set up on your studentpad account.
